Russell Forward - General Insurance

After 14 years in the engineering industry in Christchurch, Russell decided in 1988 to change direction and joined National Mutual as a life agent. 5 years later, he decided his future lay as an independent broker and financial adviser and left National Mutual to join Caledonian Financial Services, NZ’s largest independent life and investment Broking Company.

Russell developed his business in 3 areas; general insurance, investment planning and life and disability insurance. Then in 2001, he developed a formal relationship with Avon Insurance Brokers providing special expertise in life and disability insurance to Avon’s client base. Russell provides a steady stream of new business to Avon and also runs his own business, Forward Planning Limited, from the same office premises.

What Russel brings to Avon Insurance Brokers, is access to a full Financial Planning Service and broking facility with all life insurers (except AMP).

Russell lives in Christchurch and is married with three children. He coaches junior rugby and keenly supports his daughters' netball. Russell also plays competitive golf and enjoys rugby.
